- Mar 05, 2009 So I have been running a Maxtor Onetouch 4 Mini as my external hard drive Time Machine device. I did not install any of the original software included on the device. I have been running it effectively for a month+. A few days ago I tried to plug in and had trouble. The front light would tern on for about 4 seconds, then turn off.
